Carewright Beds Range

Profiling beds not only provide supreme comfort for the occupant, but can also reduce nursing costs substantially. Simple electrical controls enable the carer or occupant to gently alter the position of the bed with the minimum of effort, improving comfort and autonomy.

Raising the backrest and knee-break in conjunction dramatically reduces the tendency for a ‘propped-up’ occupant to slide down the bed. Not only does this directly save nursing time but, by reducing shear forces on the skin and improving pressure distribution, the potential for developing Pressure Sores is also reduced.

The 5 different styles of beds available from Carewright are known as the Craven and Haworth, Wharfedale, Dalesman, Dalesway.

The Craven

A true multi-position bed with height and posture adjustment at the touch of a button. This means it can be lowered to make it easier to get the users legs onto the bed or to affect a wheelchair transfer. Raising the height of the bed also enables most nursing and care procedures to be carried out at a comfortable working height, reducing back strain.

The Craven uses a motor at each end of the bed for height adjustment. By raising the head of the bed and tilting the profiling system a chair position can be achieved. This provides increased comfort and improves the interaction between the user and their surroundings. The four fold action provides individual support and adjustment to the back and legs, with a further mechanical foot rest system allowing the lower legs to be raised.

The Craven is supplied with either a 4 section, heavy-duty, steel mesh base for strength and ease of cleaning, or a beech sprung, slatted base for extra comfort. The light oak wooden surround is non-fading and suitable for cleaning with non-ammonia based cleaning agents. The Craven is the ultimate adjustable nursing bed, measuring 90cm (36") wide.

The Haworth

A true multi-position bed with height and posture adjustment at the touch of a button. The Haworth features a traditional style ‘scissor action’ variable height. By tilting the profiling system an upright seating position can be achieved. This provides increased comfort and improves the interaction between the user and their surroundings. The four fold action provides individual support and adjustment to the back and legs, with a further mechanical foot rest system allowing the lower legs to be raised.

The Wharfedale

A luxurious hand built adjustable bed with a four fold action, allowing individual support to the back and legs. The Wharfedale includes a beech sprung slatted frame with a two motor system. Simple electrical controls enable the carer or occupant to gently alter the position of the bed with the minimum of effort.

The Wharfedale measures 90cm (36") wide and has a mattress height of 55cm (22").

The Dalesman

A hand built adjustable bed with a five fold action, allowing individual support to the head, back and legs. The Dalesman boasts many features normally associated with much more expensive models, including a beech sprung, slatted frame and a two motor system. Base options include a choice of deep divan on castors or divan on turned beech legs. The Dalesman is available in 7 different widths and three different heights. Double frames are also available.

The Dalesway

A luxurious hand built adjustable bed with a five fold action, allowing individual support to the head, back and legs, with added support in the shoulder region. The Dalesway includes a beech sprung slatted frame. A top quality damask on a deep divan on castors, or divan on turned beech legs, adds the finishing touches to this superb model. The Dalesway is available in 5 different widths and three different heights. Double frames are also available.
